General Tour Information

  • We offer three ways to explore the Kimberley:

    • Scheduled Group Expeditions: 6 to 15 day group tours that combine 4WD coach travel and private charter flights with boat, helicopter and seaplane experiences.

    • Signature Air Safaris: Exclusive, premium journeys that use private aircraft to reach remote destinations, with helicopter, boat and 4WD experiences along the way.

    • Private Custom Ventures: Tailored itineraries for couples, families or groups, designed around your interests, preferred travel style and budget.

    Each offers a way to experience the Kimberley’s most captivating highlights from every angle, at land, air and sea.

  • Our group tours with scheduled departure dates, range from 6 to 15 days. We also offer custom tours, so we can tailor the length of your journey to suit your plans.

  • Yes. Our Private Custom Ventures can be tailored to a range of budgets and adventure styles, including your preferred travel dates, destinations and experiences. You’ll have a knowledgeable guide dedicated to your group. Please keep in mind that, because these are exclusive, small-group bookings, they can cost more per day than our scheduled group tours.

  • The best time to visit is during the dry season, from May to September, when the weather is cooler and more comfortable for travel.

  • Our tours are all-inclusive. Packages include accommodation, meals, transport throughout the itinerary, and incredible experiences such as seaplane flights, helicopter tours and boat trips across iconic Kimberley destinations. Travel to the tour’s starting point and from its finishing point is not included. Selected beverages are included with meals. Drinks purchased outside meal times are at your own expense.

  • Tours are designed for small groups to ensure a personalised and intimate experience. Group Tours range from 10 to 20 participants per tour.

Accommodation & Gear

  • Our tours feature premium outback accommodation with private ensuites. Depending on the itinerary, you may stay in remote wilderness escapes, resorts, lodges, luxury houseboats or boutique bed and breakfasts. Please check your chosen itinerary for the specific accommodation included.

  • We recommend bringing comfortable clothing, sturdy footwear for walking and hiking, bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, and bathers. Our tours provide all other essentials, including meals and accommodation.

Age & Restrictions

  • Our scheduled group tours are for guests aged 18 and over. On occasion, we may be able to accommodate a teenager close to 18, such as a 17-year-old.

    Families with children are welcome on our private custom journeys. Tell us your budget, how long you’d like to travel and the experiences that interest you, and we can suggest itinerary options. Depending on your budget, your journey could include travel by air or a guided 4WD tour, with helicopter flights, boat tours and seaplane experiences woven in.

    A shorter journey of around seven days may be an option for a smaller budget. As private journeys are entirely private and tailored to you, they generally cost more per day than our scheduled group tours.

    • Helicopters: There is no age limit for flights. In our Robinson R44 Helicopters, there is an individual seat limit of 130kg. Combined passenger weight limits vary depending on the duration of each helicopter experience. Please enquire when booking for more information.

    • Seaplanes: Children must be four years or older. Due to safety requirements on the Horizontal Falls seaplanes, there is a passenger weight limit maximum of 120kg and a minimum of 15kg.

    • Charter Planes: There is no age limit for flights. There is an individual seat limit of 130kg. Combined passenger weight limits vary depending on the duration of each flight experience.

  • Charter flight to Horizontal Falls is limited to 2kg per person in baggage. No luggage restrictions apply for main baggage on this tour as this will be transported via coach when tour participants are transferred by charter.

  • Luggage allowances vary depending on your itinerary and the activities included. We recommend bringing one main bag weighing up to 25 kg, plus a small backpack for day adventures and air experiences. Small plane, seaplane and helicopter activities may limit luggage to 2–5 kg per person, depending on the experience. Please check your tour’s pre-departure information for specific luggage allowances.

Additional Questions

  • Solo travellers are welcome on our group tours. A single supplement of $200 per night applies if you would like your own room. If you share with another guest, this fee does not apply. Room arrangements must remain the same throughout the tour and cannot be changed mid-trip.

    Our private and custom tours require a minimum of two guests per booking. Separate rooms can be arranged at an additional charge. This charge varies according to tour customisations.

  • Flight schedules vary seasonally, however the Broome Visitor Centre maintains an up-to-date list of flight details on their website.

  • Yes, this can be arranged free of charge. Please let us know in advance if you will require transfers to and from the airport.

  • We welcome guests with accessibility requirements and work with you personally to assess which tour and activities best suit your needs. Depending on the itinerary, we can arrange accessible accommodation, adjust the pace of activities and coordinate assistance with our guides and travel partners. Please note that our tour vehicles do not have wheelchair lifts and ramps, and tour activities on small plane, seaplane and helicopter aircrafts do not have wheelchair accessibility options. 

    The Kimberley’s remote, rugged terrain means some experiences can be challenging for those with limited mobility. Gorge walks, uneven paths, boat access and boarding small aircraft may present challenges. Please contact us before booking to discuss your individual requirements so we can confirm suitable arrangements and explore alternatives where possible.
